Individual and Groups of One Health & Dental Plans


BPG offers a wide range of group insurance packages that can meet the needs of any individual or family regardless of size or specific plan. As an independent consultant, we are able to pair you with the appropriate companies to deliver a competitive combination of product, service and pricing. In addition to the types of benefits that organizations (and groups of as little as one individual) can participate in (see below), there are three special types of plans that we offer exclusively for individuals. BPG offers assistance when employees retire or terminate employment with an organization. We offer products that allow the conversion of life insurance coverage to personally owned coverage and the seamless transfer of Health and Dental Care Benefits to a personally owned plan. The following plans are voluntary, are usually based on attained age, and have guaranteed acceptance if application is made within required time restrictions. These plans are as follows:

Offered through Manulife Financial, this product provides the peace-of-mind and protection needed, when group benefits end either due to career change, retirement, or job loss. Put an end to worries about losing group benefits and paying for routine medical expenses such as prescription drugs, dental service and prescription eyewear by applying for FollowMe®. Enjoy solid protection against ongoing and unexpected healthcare expenses.

Province by province, governments are covering fewer everyday healthcare expenses. This means that more expenses are being paid out of pocket. PlanDirect can help fill the gap between provincial plan coverage. Unlike other plans, PlanDirect® through Great West Life provides:

  • Coverage for the treatment of pre-existing health conditions on approved applications.
  • Does not require any overall lifetime maximum or any waiting periods.
  • Is portable from province to province.
  • Has guaranteed acceptance for individuals coming from previous similar coverage within the last 60 days.

This plan is designed for long term use and stability. It is ideal as it provides quality coverage with a variety of plan designs and optional benefits.

Manitoba Blue Cross is a not-for-profit organization that is operated by Manitobans for Manitobans. BPG is able to offer a variety of Blue Cross health and dental coverage options upon retirement or termination of employment. Applications must be made within 60 days of the date group coverage ends to avoid any restrictions in coverage.

The following plans can be established for groups starting as small as just one life being insured. The plans can include the following products:

This benefit reimburses employees and their eligible dependents the cost of services and supplies when required for treatment of illness or injury. It is supplementary coverage to the Provincial health care plan.

This benefit provides coverage for employees and their dependents for medical treatment required due to an accident or an acute episode of disease, or other medical emergency that occurs when out of the country.

This benefit provides employees and their dependents with basic coverage for examinations, cleanings, fillings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, extraction's and denture maintenance.

This benefit provides coverage for contact lenses or eyeglasses prescribed by a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist. Eye exams may be included.

These are cost-effective programs aimed at improving employees' mental health and well being. Employee Assistance Plans are sometimes referred to as wellness plans. Some of the counseling, coping and treatment services that Employee Assistance Plans provide include:
